Ranthambore National Park is one of the biggest National Park situated in the district of the Sawai Madhopur Rajasthan and spread in an area of 392 km˛.This Park is derives its name from the Ranth-ambhor Fort situated with in its precincts. It is a famous tourists destination which attracts a large number of people here as it is surrounded by the Vindhyas and Aravalis hill range.It is a private hunting reserves and declared as the Project Tiger reserves in the year 1973.This land is the virtual land famous for the flora and fauna, deep forest with the canals and the waterfalls.It is also a place famous for the hills,narrow valleys and quite a few lakes.The some of the famous lakes are The Padam Talab, the Raj Bagh Talab and the Malik Talab. It is a best place for the wild tigers and the other natural habitats like the chital, sambar, blue bull and chinkara.Samabr deer is the major attraction of this park and also see the other 300 varieties of the birds in the Ranthambore National Park.

Ranthambore National Park is situated about 110 kms from the Kota and 160kms southeast of Jaipur which is the nearest airport.Sawai Madhopur is the 11 kms away and it is the nearest town and the railway station from the Park.This Park is declared as a plateau and is bounded by the Banas River in the North and Chambal River from the South.
